Moussa confers with Egyptian - Libyan committee on Sudanese reconciliation

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa has conferred with the Egyptian - Libyan joint committee concerned with achieving national reconciliation in Sudan.

The meeting was chaired by Fauad Youssef, the head of the Sudan department in the Foreign Ministry and Libyan ambassador Seliman El-Shahoumi, with the attendance of the committee's members and Gomeha El-Fazani, the secretary in Cairo.

El-Shahoumi said that on the margins of the exceptional African summit in Libya and the meetings of the Arab League's council, coordinative meetings are to be held with IFAD member states and Sudan's neighbor states under the leadership of Moussa and the secretary of the Libyan foreign contact committee (the Foreign Ministry).

He added that the first meeting of the preparatory committee of Sudanese dialogue gathering, which includes representatives of the Sudanese government and opposition, will take place on September 13.

He added that this meeting will be a chance to continue the Egyptian - Libyan efforts for Sudanese national rapport.
