Originally published

The deputy director general of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Yunaf Beiram, on Tuesday headed for Morocco to meet with high-ranking Moroccan officials, especially with the Moroccan foreign minister.

Israel Radio quoted the spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry as saying that the director general of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Eitan Bin Tsour, will head shortly to Mauritania, while other Foreign Ministry staff members will be delegated to Tunisia and several Arab Gulf states.

The radio report indicated that Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy decided to delegate those officials at his ministry to assert that Israel is determined to implement the Wye River agreement and is seeking to start final status negotiations and to resume negotiations on the multilateral level.

The radio added that these visits fall in the context of the progress attained in the negotiations with the Palestinians and the possibility of attaining progress soon on the Syrian and Lebanese tracks.
