Efforts to maintain Arab solidarity

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid received a message from Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismael on the efforts and contacts made by Kuwait and Saudi Arabia with Iraq in order to revive Arab solidarity.

The message was handed over by Sudan's permanent representative at the AL, Ahmad Abdul Halim, who indicated that the AL chief found positive stances towards efforts made to maintain Arab solidarity carried out by the Sudanese minister.

Abdul Halim said he had briefed the AL chief on the efforts being exerted to achieve national reconciliation in Sudan at "the backing of our brothers in Egypt and Libya in light of the joint Egyptian-Libyan initiative."

He added that he told Abdul Meguid about the latest developments in Sudan in light of foreign conspiracies hatched against it, threatening its territorial integrity, national unity and independence.
