Syrian newspapers hail Albright's statements

Syrian newspapers published on Wednesday considered the recent statements of US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright concerning the importance of the Syrian peace track as a new important effort for the expected US stand's credibility, which is required to enhance, sponsor, and lead the peace process to its desired target.

Meanwhile, El-Thawra newspaper said the US concentration on the considering proposals and pledges made by former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin as a basis for resuming peace negotiations opens the way for Albright's expected tour of the region.

El-Thawra added that the US plan seems to be serious and responsible, which shed light upon necessity for peace.

The newspaper also reported that taking advantage of available opportunities that expresses Albright's statements is a historic responsibility that should not be missed.

Meanwhile, El-Baath newspaper considered the new Israeli military escalation in south Lebanon to be in preparation for receiving Albright on the Israeli known and very special method.
