Companies swindle Egyptians with promises to send them to work abroad
23 Egyptians were victimized by companies who defrauded those who wanted to travel abroad to work, after these companies took large amounts of money from the Egyptians, claiming that they would allow them opportunities to work in Europe, especially in France.
The assistant foreign minister for the affairs of Egyptians abroad, ambassador Assem Megahed, told ArabicNews.com that these Egyptians are currently evacuated because they do not have work contracts or legal residency, adding that the Egyptian Ministry of Interior informed concerned sides to begin investigations into the transactions.
Megahed added that the Egyptian embassy in Togo has received notifications from 12 Egyptians against one tourism company after they were promised to be taken to Togo, from which they could obtain entrance visas to France. But the company abandoned them after each person paid an amount of 8 to 12 thousand pounds.
Moreover, Egypt's embassy in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, has received a notification from 11 Egyptians who confirmed they traveled to Azerbaijan claiming that they allowed job opportunities.
