Algerian daily says criminals fled to the Moroccan territories

The Algerian daily al-Watan on Tuesday said that the Islamist extremists who slaughtered some 29 persons on Saturday night at a false barrier in Bashar district, 950 km southwest of Algiers fled into the Moroccan territories.

The paper reported that the army investigators followed up traces of the criminals and found their belongings just hundreds of meters from the Moroccan borders. The Algerian daily added that it is not the first time that "terrorists resort to the Moroccan Kingdom."

The paper quoted three survivors from of carnage as saying that the attackers belong to the Armed Islamic Group.
