Russia warns against Islamic support for Dagestan

Russian sources in Cairo warned the Arab and Islamic countries today of enhancing, reinforcing and support the Muslim fighters who occupied a region southwest of Dagestan and announced the establishment of an independent Islamic republic.

Sources told ArabicNews.com today that according to the official statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry yesterday, any aid for those fighters would be considered as an intervention in the internal affairs of Moscow.

The statement added that the Islamic countries should back up Russia in imposing legitimacy in confrontation of terrorists who attempt to exploit Islam as a cover for their practices as highway robbers.
