Presenting Palestinian children to Israeli military court

Originally published

Israeli military sources in West Bank announced that Palestinian children of at least the age of 12 will be presented to the military court soon, if convicted of throwing stones at Israelis.

The sources added that this decision reflects the danger seen by Israel in the operations of throwing stones that threaten the life of civilians and soldiers in Israel.

Meanwhile, an Israeli court found a Jewish settler to be innocent of killing a Palestinian child in the West Bank three years ago.

The judge found that the Jewish settler was trying to help the child, named Helmy Shousha, when he fainted, but the judge refused the witness of a medical examination, saying that the child, coming from Assan village near Bethlehem died after being struck.

Colleagues, of the child have told the court that the Jewish settler used his pistol to hit Helmi on his head, while the accused settler claimed that Aelmi fell down on the ground, where his head hit a stone while the accused was chasing him after the settler's car was pelted by stones.

The child's father, Selim Shusha, described the decision of the Israeli judge as a call of encouragement for the settlers to kill Palestinian children.
