On Muslim Brothers in Jordan
The Jordanian weekly al-Majd said that the Jordanian authorities refused to permit the Shoura council of the Syrian Muslim Brothers to convene a meeting in Amman this week.
The weekly quoted a well-informed source in Amman as saying that the Jordanian authorities told the leadership of the Syrian Muslim Brothers that it does not want this proposed meeting to have an adverse impact on the firm relations linking Jordan and Syria.
The source said that the leadership of the Syrian Muslim Brothers responded to the Jordanian request and decided to convene its Shoura council in Baghdad in a short time, with the objective of studying the deteriorated political and organizational conditions of the Muslim Brothers.
