Iraq starts project to develop Saddam Hussein International Airport

Originally published

Iraqi contracting companies started executive steps for maintaining and developing Saddam Hussein International Airport in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, which had stopped since the 1990 Gulf War.

A statement issued by the Iraqi Construction Ministry said that 55 million Iraqi dinars were specified for such a process.

The sources expected that this work may be completed at the end of this year, but the continuation of the international sanctions prevent the security and practical aspects for any air transportation processes.
