Libya denies CIA report on owning nuclear weapons
Libya has denied what accusations in the annual report submitted by the CIA to the Congress that five Arab states possess weapons of mass destruction including Libya.
The people's general committee for foreign relations and international cooperation in Libya (the Foreign Ministry) said in a statement issued on Wednesday night that despite Libya's announcement in international circles and on various occasions that it does not have weapons of mass destruction or a desire to have them and asking the UN to delegate an independent inspection team to make sure of that, the US administration continues its accusations against the Arab states, ignoring the dangers besieging the Arab states and the countries of the region as a result of the weapons of mass destruction owned by Israel at the "sight and ear of the US."
The committee concluded its statement by saying that it sees such reports as futile, because they lack credibility, ignore facts and embark on a double standard policy, adding that repeating false and groundless accusations does not serve the cause of peace in the world.
