Turkish - Iranian negotiations extended
The Turkish - Iranian negotiations continued for the third consecutive day after the failure of the two sides to reach an agreement regarding a joint note aimed at improving border cooperation.
A Turkish official source said the negotiating delegations were not able to agree on eight of the 10 points in the document, including an item which obliges the two governments to work against rebel groups working in the other country.
The Turkish authorities accused the Iranian government of supporting the separatist Kurdistani Workers Party (PKK), while while the Iranian government says that the Turkish authorities allow members of the rebel Mojahideen Khalq to work against Iran from Turkish territories, while Turkey denied this.
