Libyan newspaper warns of attempts to spoil Libyan - Italian relations

The Libyan newspaper El-Zahf El- Akhar published yesterday warned of attempts to spoil and corrupt the improving relations between Italy and Libya, through efforts to shake Libyan trust in the policies of the current Italian government.

The newspaper said Italy should take this into consideration, because of some efforts that could undermine the construction of good relations between Italy and Libya.

The newspaper, which is considered to speak for the Libyan revolutionary committees, expressed Libya's aspiration to hold more meetings between Libyan and Italian parties to pave the way for building trust in these gatherings.

The Italian - Libyan joint committee concluded the works of its seventh session last Thursday under the chairmanship of Omar El-Montassir, secretary of Libyan people's committee for foreign contact and international cooperation, and Italian Foreign Minister Lamberto Dini where the committee confirmed the concerns of the two countries with strengthening bilateral cooperation relations.
