Morocco's El Aynaoui wins first-ever ATP title
Moroccan tennisman Youness El Aynaoui won on Sunday in Amsterdam the Dutch open after defeating Argentina's Mariano Zabaleta in straight sets 6-0 and 6-3.
It took El-Aynaoui, the top-ranked Moroccan player, less than two hours to grab his first-ever ATP, worth $475,000 thanks to his tireless vigor, elegance and an unmatched tenacity.
El-Aynaoui, who improved his ATP standing from 33rd to 24th rank, had reached during the past years five ATP finals which he lost due to his lack of experience, concentration and self-confidence. El-Aynaoui had played the finals of Hassan II Trophy (1993), the Doha open, the Jakarta and Amsterdam tournaments (1996) and the Santiago Open (1998).
The two other best Moroccan tennismen are Hicham Arazi (No-40) and Karim Alami (No-70).
