Arab - African dialogue highlighted
Jordanian Parliament Speaker Abdul Hadi al-Majali has asserted the importance of Arab-African dialogue and its role in exchanging views and enriching expertise towards establishing fruitful Afro-Arab cooperation in various areas.
During his meeting in Amman on Saturday with the deputy chairman of the Senegalese National Assembly, Mustafa Ka, who is also the chairman of the Arab world - African parliamentary forum for population and development, said Arab and African parliamentarians are able to play an important role in this respect by using their influence to encourage their governments to strengthen Afro-Arab solidarity in all domains.
The Jordanian parliament speaker expressed his country's welcome of hosting the next meeting of the population and development forum to be held in May 2000.
Ka backed the idea of moving from dialogue to practical cooperation between the Arab and African states. He called on parliamentarians to organize meetings and draw their plans on ways to promote their governments to cooperate in economic fields.
