1.5 million Iraqi citizens dead due to economic sanctions

Originally published

Iraq accused the U.S.A. of being the reason behind the strict economic sanctions imposed on Iraq by the United Nations.

On the 9th anniversary of imposing the sanctions Iraq's official newspaper, al-Thawra, said the U.S. was behind resolution 661, in which it announced its aggressive intentions to the international community.

The newspaper stated that more than 1.5 million Iraqi children, women, and men had died due to these sanctions and that the sanctions had led to horrible consequences for the environment, health, education, industry and other fields.
