Iraq warns Turkey against possessing nuclear abilities

Baghdad has warned of the dangers that would result if Turkey possessed nuclear abilities, saying that this matter would make the region embark on a nuclear competition on the account of the prosperity and development of its people.

The Iraqi newspaper El-Thawra called on Arab states yesterday to draft a strategy to confront this danger and to treat Turkish nuclear arms as the primary danger in the region, referring to the announcement of the Middle East region as free of atomic, chemical and biological weapons.
