Report: Four-member summit to be held in Cairo
The Jordanian weekly al-Majd said, referring to Egyptian diplomatic sources in Amman, that a four-member summit will be held within the coming days in Cairo including Jordan, Egypt, the Palestinian Authority and Israel.
The paper's sources said that the summit targets crystallizing future trends toward the peace settlement and rules that will govern this process, especially on the Palestinian track. The sources continued that during the summit systems will be drawn implying the implementation of the Wye River accord or in relation to the special obligation to start the final negotiation stage.
The paper expected the summit to conclude an agreement on the work of the Palestinian refugees' affairs.
The sources continued that this summit, which was agreed upon during the recent meeting between Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, will be an introduction to convening a five-member summit with the participation of US President Bill Clinton.
