Arab Journalists Union condemns investigation into Lebanese journalist

Originally published

The general trusteeship of Arab Journalists Union released a statement in which it denounced the attempts to put an end to freedom of the press in Lebanon because of presenting Melhem Karam, the deputy chairman of the union and the chief editor of the weekly magazine El-Hawadith, for investigation, as well as another number of Lebanese journalists, on accusations of publishing news and subjects that harm the unity of Lebanon.

The secretary general of the union, Salah El-Deen Hafez, said the union's general trusteeship is contacting and coordinating with the press and reporters' union in Lebanon to prepare to adopt the necessary measures to support freedom of the press in Lebanon.
