US embassy urges investment in Egypt

The US embassy in Cairo issued yesterday a statement in which it called on US investors to invest in Egypt and gave them a comprehensive account of the available opportunities in its annual report, titled, "Foreign Economic Trends and their Implications for the United States."

The annual report said the Egyptian economy is provoking interest due to positive inflation, a low budget shortage, and development, in addition to increasing the new discoveries in the field of energy, especially natural gas.

It added that it is taking into consideration the expansion of agricultural lands through the Toshka project so that the burden of importing foodstuffs from aboard would be eased.
