Lebanese resistance retaliates for Israeli attacks

Originally published

Lebanese security sources said on Sunday that Israeli warplanes on Sunday raided twice the areas of Majdal Zoun, al-Mansouri, Jib Sweid and al-Rajraj in south Lebanon.

The Israeli jets were intercepted by Lebanese anti-aircraft fire, the Lebanese sources added.

Later in the day, Israeli warplanes fired four missiles at targets in a valley near Majdal Zoun, a village 14 kilometers south of the village of Tyre and about five kilometres north of the Israeli borders.

There was no mention of casualties in the air-strikes, which was confirmed by the Israeli army in Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese resistance said on Sunday that a unit of snipers hit a pro-Israeli South Lebanon Army militia member at al-Hamra crossing, which leads to the occupied part of south Lebanon.

In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said the SLA member was seen collapsing inside the eastern detachment of the crossing and then taken by a vehicle to the occupied zone's interior.

The statement added that a resistance group attacked a mechanized patrol for Israeli troops as it was entering the radar position in Ras al-Bayyada in the western sector.

One military vehicle was directly hit, and all its occupants were killed or wounded, the statement said.

Earlier in the day, the Lebanese resistance attacked, using rockets and machine-guns, the Israeli positions in Debshe. Columns of smoke were seen rising from the position, which was directly hit.
