Morocco launches vaccination campaign against hepatitis-b
Morocco launched Tuesday a nationwide vaccination campaign against Hepatitis-B Virus (HBV) affecting between 780,000 and 1.3 million Moroccans.
The campaign, which targets newborns, is backed by UNICEF, the World Heath Organization, International Development Agency and Rotary International Foundation.
To contain the killer Hepatitis-B plague, Morocco has decided to include the anti-HBV vaccine in its annual national immunization programs.
Every year Morocco organizes National Vaccination Days, part of a long-term strategy to protect mothers and children from killer diseases such as tetanus, tuberculosis, diphtheria, measles and whooping cough.
