Geneva meeting between Turabi and El-Mahdi canceled
The ruling National Conference Party in Sudan announced the cancellation of the meeting between Hassan Turabi, the secretary general of the party, and El-Sadek El-Mahdi, the former prime minister and chief of the Ummah Party, that was scheduled for Saturday in Geneva.
Mohammed El-Hassan El-Amin, the party's political secretary, stated that the meeting was canceled due the unacceptable conditions made by El-Mahdi to discuss horizons for national reconciliation with Turabi.
El-Amin denounced El-Mahdi's stance toward national reconciliation and adding unacceptable new conditions like canceling the constitution and the law governing political parties.
