Bouteflika to raise civil reconciliation draft for referendum next month

Algerian official sources said that the Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika will organize a referendum on the civil reconciliation draft with the Islamic conservatives in coming month.

The Algerian newspaper La Tribion quoted sources yesterday as saying that the Cabinet will convene to present the civil reconciliation draft to the parliament for a vote this week.

Sources said that Bouteflika is confident of winning great public support for his plan to restore stability to Algeria.

Analysts said that if Bouteflika wins he will be able to marginalize any probable opposition.
