IPU concludes deliberations
The constituent conference of the Islamic Parliaments Union (IPU) concluded its deliberations on Thursday in Tehran by ratifying its new set constituent law and electing member of its executive committee.
Saudi Arabia and Morocco were elected for the Arab group, Chad and Mali for the African group, and Bangladesh and Indonesia for the Asian group.
Earlier in the day the Arab group to the conference held a meeting to coordinate their stances during which Saudi Arabia and Morocco were elected as members for the conference executive committee.
The chairman of the Iranian Shoura council, Nateq Nouri, who is also the chairman of the conference, said the constituent conference has achieved all its objectives. He hoped that this newly-born union would foster the spirit of fraternity and solidarity among the Islamic states.
