Kuwait signs international navigation agreement
Kuwait has signed the agreement of guarantees and privileges pertaining to the international court for the navigation law. The Gulf News Agency said Kuwait's permanent representative at the UN, Muhammad Abu al-Hassan, signed the agreement on Tuesday night at UN headquarters in New York.
The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, which has Hamburg, Germany, as a headquarters, is concerned with matters debated by conflicting sides over regional waters and naval economic activities. Only 17 countries have so far signed the agreement, which was concluded in May 1997.
