Arafat meets Moussa for pushing forward the peace process

Originally published

Palestinian President Yasser Arafat arrived in Cairo after which he met Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa and high-ranking Egyptian officials. He also met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, and they discussed advancing the Middle East peace process.

Moussa welcomed Arafat's visit and said it comes in the framework of coordination between the two partners in the peace process and Egypt's support for Palestine.

Zakaria El-Agha, a member of the executive committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, said, "The meeting between the two leaders is the cornerstone in all Arab and Palestinian movements."

He added, "There is an Arab movement for supporting the Palestinian cause in the current and the coming periods so the Palestinian move can rely on the Arab states and not the European states."
