Sudanese government calls for facilitating measures to authorize investment
In its recent periodic meeting under the chairmanship of President Omar El-Bashir, the Sudanese Cabinet gave instructions to specialized bodies to facilitate measures for providing authorization for investment and to work on achieving stability to attract local and foreign investment, in addition to expanding programs for promoting investment and setting up the future map of investment in the country.
This comes on the occasion of ratifying the general features of the draft law for encouraging investment in 1999, presented by Minister of International Cooperation Abdullah Hassan Ahmed to the council, aiming to encourage investment in development projects and to initiate investment in all production sectors.
The law specifies a number of fields of strategic investment in basic infrastructure, such as roads, dams and extraction of natural resources, and provides the strategic projects with a number of customs and tax exemptions.
