Al-Assad meets with Jordanian official

Syrian President Hafez al-Assad on Thursday at the Damascus Presidential Palace received the Jordanian chairman of the Royal court Abdul Karim al-Kabareiti. Al-Kabareiti conveyed to President al-Assad a message from King Abdullah Bin Hussein in which his " majesty the King " briefed President al-Assad on results of his recent tour.

Talks dealt with recent developments in the Arab region, Arab contacts to deal with these developments and efforts exerted to improve inter-Arab relations. Present at the meeting was Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa.
