Peres: peace with the Arabs would achieve peace among the Israelis
Former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres has announced that establishing peace between Israel and its neighbors and marking fixed borders for Israel would achieve peace between the Israelis themselves.
In an interview broadcast by Israeli army radio on Wednesday, Peres indicated expanded partitions and divisions among the Israelis. Peres continued that achieving peace and reconciliation among Israelis is of no less importance that having peace with the Arabs. He added that the achievement of peace with the Arabs is but the rightful entrance to reaching peace among the Israelis.
On forming the new Israeli government, Peres said that Ehud Barak all the ministers who join him have to draw a real work programme that will be conducive to achieving peace and carry out agreements Israel has already signed, despite the fact that these agreements are difficult and painful in necessitating Israel to give up certain territories.
