Disputes between Barak and Shas

Originally published

Israel Radio said that consultations concerning forming a coalition government have resulted in disputes.

The report said that the disputes were around the refusal of the Israeli government headed by Prime Minister-elect Ehud Barak of the participation of the Shas party in the expected government if Arieh Deri, the leader of the Shas Party who was arrested on charges of corruption, continued to be its leader.

Meanwhile, Lebanese Minister of Information Anwar al-Khalil confirmed that Lebanon is aware of the statements of Barak concerning Israeli withdrawal from south Lebanon, pointing out that Barak's government should take practical measures to be reflected in implementing the international decisions.
