Originally published

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa is to arrive in the Pakistani capital in the coming week, heading a delegation that includes representatives of different ministries to participate in the meetings of the joint committee between the two countries, headed by their foreign ministers.

Pakistani diplomatic sources in Cairo said Pakistan places a great significance on this meeting, as it is decided to be convened annually, yet it has not convened in three years.

The sources added that Pakistan prepared for this meeting for developing special relations in the economic and commercial fields and establishing joint projects, and that the committee will discuss political issues, especially on the regional level.

The sources said the two sides will discuss the developments in the Middle East peace process in light of changes after the Israeli elections and Israeli Prime Minister-elect Ehud Barak's assumption of power.
