Morocco, Netherlands sign agreement on prisoners transfer

Morocco and the Netherlands initialed a draft convention on the transfer of prisoners, so that the two countries' nationals serve their prison sentence in their home country.

The document was initialed following a joint meeting held in the Hague this May 17-19.

A statement of the Moroccan justice ministry explained that the convention takes into account specificities of the judiciary systems in both countries and respects internationally-recognized principles and values.
