Syrian Cabinet briefed on results of Khatami's visit to Damascus

Chaired by Prime Minister Mahmoud al-Zou'bi, the Syrian Cabinet on Tuesday held its weekly meeting, during which works of the economic, services and cultural committees were reviewed. The Cabinet ministers were briefed by Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa on the current developments on the Arab and international arenas.

Al-Sharaa highlighted the latest developments and results of visits and meetings, especially the positive results of the visit made by Iranian President Muhammad Khatami to Damascus, the important talks he held with President Hafez al-Assad, its reflections between the two countries and the role played by the visit in strengthening ArabIranian relations in general.

For his part, Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Muhammad al-Imadi reviewed the positive results of cultural, technical, trade and economic cooperation relations with the Iranian side and agreements signed during the visit.
