AL denounces Turkish incursion in Iraq

The Arab League has strongly denounced the new incursion carried out by the Turkish armed forces into Iraqi territories. The AL's assistant secretary general for political affairs, Muhammad Zakaraya Ismael, said this new Turkish military act in northern Iraq "is but a condemned work and constitutes an aggression on the sovereignty of an AL member Arab states."

He called upon Turkey to immediately stop such these measures and military interventions in northern Iraq, which often result in heavy losses in people and property.

He added that the AL is closely following up these new Turkish military operations in northern Iraq and calls on Turkey to immediately withdraw its forces from northern Iraq.
