Report: Lebanese businessmen and investment in Syria
The Paris-based al-Muharrir News has quoted Lebanese businessmen as saying that the Syrian government will be instituting important measures to develop the investment atmosphere in Syria.
The businessmen were quoted as saying that Bashar al-Assad who has decided to "launch the battle of the future," is notably concentrating on the investment issue, inspired by the address given by his father, Syrian President Hafez al-Assad, upon taking his oath for a fifth constitutional term in Syria.
The paper added that the contacts made by Bashar al-Assad assure that there is a determination to encourage both Arab and foreign investment in the way that continues the policy pursued by President al-Assad in keeping his country "away from links to the mechanisms of major economic markets."
The Lebanese businessmen believe, the paper said, that the "very clean hand" policy pursued by "young al-Assad" who has no red lines in front of him in this respect, is strongly attracting Arab and foreign suppliers who consider Syria as the best place for investment, thanks to the might of its local market and its resourceful human and natural potentials.
