23 armed men killed in Algeria

The Algerian daily al-Khabar said on Thursday that the security forces killed some 23 armed men in Sedi Ali Bu Nab mountainous area in Tizi Ouzou district, 130 km from the capital, Algiers, in a vast mopping-up operation.

Meanwhile, the Algerian daily Sawt al-Ahrar said that one man and his wife were killed following a bomb explosion planted in their house in Seidi Zahhar municipality in Medea province.

Elsewhere, the Algerian security forces killed one armed forces member and defused two bombs while the killed armed group member was trying to plant it in the "new market" in Medea province.
