Syrian-Iranian permanent committee meets in Damascus

Syrian Deputy Premier for Economic Affairs Salim Yassin on Wednesday received members of the Iranian side in the Syrian-Iranian permanent joint committee, led by Iranian Minister of Housing and Urban Construction Abul Ali Zada.

The Syrian deputy premier stressed the strong Syrian - Iranian relations in various areas and the importance of the visit to be held today by Iranian President Muhammad Khatami to Damascus.

The two sides reviewed joint projects in which contracts will be signed. These include building a cement factory in Aleppo, establishing ten silos and establishing a free trade zone.
