Libya establishes general organization for free trade zones
The Libyan government decided to establish a general organization for free trade zones affiliated to the Ministry of Economy and Trade while enjoying financial independence from the ministry.
A press statement issued by Libya's embassy in Cairo stated that the organization's headquarters will be in the coastal city of Mesrata Gharb and the organization will run the free trade zone and invest in it.
It will also help develop international commercial exchange in addition to establishing a banking system for presenting foreign and local currency services to exporters and importers from both inside and outside Libya.
