Saudi crown prince to visit Pretoria

Diplomatic sources in Riyadh said on Tuesday that Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz will head for South Africa on May 18 in the course of his tour which will also include Libya, Italy, Germany and Morocco.

This is the first visit for Crown Prince Abdullah to South Africa.

In December 1998, President Nelson Mandela of South Africa visited Saudi Arabia, after having visited it in November 1997 for the first time.

The two countries announced in November 1998 during a visit held by South African Vice President Thabo Mebki announced their determination to sign strategic partnership agreements in the areas of defense and the economy. He said, then, that his country will buy great quantities of Saudi oil.
