Israel orders Orient House closures

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Ariel Sharon, Defense Minister Moshe Arens and Public Security Minister Avigdor Kahalani decided today to issue orders for the closure of three Palestinian offices in the Orient House.

"The decision was made after all required legal processes were exhausted," a statement issued by Netanyahu's media advisor said. "The Prime Minister even dispatched a personal envoy to Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat in order to clarify the serious nature of the Palestinian violations in question," the statement said.
