Egypt calls on Sudan to hand over extremists
Egyptian Minister of Interior Habib al-Adli has unveiled attempts made by his country to convince Arab states, including Sudan, to hand over Egyptian extremists who reside in these states.
The Egyptian minister added that, "Sudanese officials stress that these elements used to live in Sudan and left it."
Al-Adli praised inter-Arab cooperation in the area of fighting terrorism. He described the Arab anti-terrorism pact, which was put into actual realization just two days ago, as "an achievement which was realized in a short period of time."
He commended the cooperation between Egypt and the Arab states and the handing over of several escaping terrorist elements. The Egyptian minister expressed his hope that Sudan will change its position and that cooperation can be maintained between the Egyptian and Sudanese sides.
The Egyptian minister, who was speaking to the teaching staffs of the Egyptian universities abroad, asserted the importance of regional and international cooperation to fight terrorism, "a phenomenon, which has become a source of threats to security and peace on the world level."
