OIC chief calls for international relations ruled by moral values
Secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), Azeddine Laraki, called on Wednesday for a universal civilizational strategy in which moral values would prevail in the drafting of policies, programs, laws and international relations.
The OIC secretary general, who was speaking at the closing of an "Islamic conference on dialogue between civilizations," said moral values are the only solution to the crisis experienced by human kind.
He went on that the European Union has often expressed the wish to open dialogue with the Islamic organization in order to set forth cooperation relations.
Laraki said the pan-Islamic organization will propose an adequate formula to consolidate dialogue and cooperation between the OIC and the EU institutions and suggested that the two regional organizations start thinking of a universal charter for dialogue between civilizations.
