Jordanian king commends relations with Syria

King Abdullah of Jordan has noted the remarkable relations linking Syria and Jordan. He added that the two states "enjoy historical links." In a statement to CNN broadcast on Sunday, the Jordanian king added: "We are all pleased about this close relationship with Syria."

On the Middle East peace process the Jordanian king said that people all around the world, especially in the region, are frustrated due to the failure of the peace process. He expressed his hope that when the Israeli elections end, regardless of the Israelis' choice, that the new prime Minister will have the courage and determination to proceed in with the peace process.
