Religious issues discussed between Oman, Lebanon

Oman's Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Bin Hamad al-Khaleili met on Sunday in Muscat with the chairman of the Higher Shiite Islamic council in Lebanon, Sheikh Muhammad Mahdi Shamseddine. The Oman News Agency said the two sides discussed bilateral relations and means of backing them in various al-Ifta and religious affairs matters as well as issues of mutual concern.

In December, 1998, the Omani government organized in Muscat a conference on how to bring together several Islamic sects.
