Yemeni president receives commander of U.S.A troops in the gulf

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh met yesterday with the commander of US troops in the Gulf, General Anthony Zinni. Official sources said that discussions between them tackled the military cooperation between the US and Yemen.

The US military official stated that his country has no plan to establish air or naval bases in Yemen.

President Saleh said last year that his country opposes presenting military facilities to the US, following reports that asserted that Sanaa intends to give Washington facilities on Socatra island in Aden Gulf.
