Israel strikes south Lebanon

Originally published

Israeli artillery positioned in al-Zaffata on Tuesday shelled several towns in the mountainous areas of al-Tuffah district and al-Nabatiyeh, according to Lebanese security forces. The sources added that the shelling was accompanied by intensive heavy machine-gun fire targeting the mountainous routes which link al-Tuffah district to the occupied part of south Lebanon.

Israeli war planes flew over the southern and western Bekaa and the capital, Beirut, carrying out mock and provocative raids in the airspace of al-Tuffah district and al-Nabatiyeh areas. The Israeli planes were intercepted by Lebanese Army anti-aircraft fire and the Lebanese resistance.

Further reports from south Lebanon said Israeli occupation forces renewed their attacks on areas adjacent to the occupied part of the western Bekaa. Lebanese security sources said occupation artillery bombarded the areas of Jabal al-Daher, the valley of Zalaya and the hills of Abu Rashed and al-Sarira.
