Israel and the Russian weapons to Iran

Originally published

Chairman of the Israeli Center Party and former Defense Minister Yitzhak Mordechai said that rebuilding Israeli-Russian relations and the efforts exerted towards convincing Russia not to provide Iran with missile technology were all made through high-level coordination between the Israeli government and the CIA.

Mordechai denied the criticism addressed to the current Israeli government on that the Israeli efforts have proven to be a failure, not halting the Russian technological aid to Iran.

In this respect, the chairman of the public relations office at the Israeli security system, Gen. Yaqoub Kadmi, on Sunday sumbitted his resignation in objection to what he called the "big failure" the Israeli government received in this regard.

Kadmi said the current Israeli government has chosen a way that was conducive to the failure of its efforts to halt Russian aid to Iran. He claimed it was very necessary to go directly to Russia and ask it to suspend its aid to Iran, rather than going to the US and asking its help because, according to Kadmi, this Israeli inclination had complicated things and pushed the Russians to refuse the Israeli request, Israeli army radio reported on Monday.
