Moussa attacks closure of Palestinian Orient House

Originally published

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa attacked the Israeli government's decision to close offices in the Orient House in Jerusalem.

Answering journalists' questions, Moussa said yesterday that East Jerusalem is an occupied city upon which UN Security Council resolution 181 is imposed, adding that this decision is the main basis for the legitimacy of the establishment of Israel itself.

He also said the final status of Jerusalem is not determined yet, and Egypt supports what was stated by the European Union representatives: that Jerusalem has a special status imposed on the Israeli authorities to respect the UN's decisions and respect its endorsements and the pacts.

Jerusalem will be a point of negotiation, and its final status will be determined during the negotiations.
