Morocco and Spain to coordinate agriculture stands
Moroccan Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries Habib Malki starts this Tuesday a two-day working visit to Spain to enhance cooperation between the two neighboring countries in matters of agriculture and related sectors.
The visit is also destined to coordinate positions between Morocco and Spain before the start of the renegotiation of the Morocco-European Union agriculture cooperation within the framework of the association accord sealed between the two sides a few years ago.
The cooperation accords -- signed in 1997 between Morocco and Spain -- provide for the consolidation of cooperation between the two countries in matters of vegetable and livestock production, agronomy, rural development, forest protection and fire control.
El Malki's visit to Spain is also part of the moves made by the Euro-Mediterranean countries for the coordination of agricultural stands and protection of their interests before the start of the international agriculture talks at the World Trade Organization.
